2024 SPRING BULL SALE
A Victorian buyer swooped in for one of the top-priced bulls at the Quarterway Angus spring bull sale at Lyndurst, Scottsdale, Tasmania, last week.
The bull was one of two to hit the sale’s top price of $12,000 and was bought by Dennis Heywood, Everton, Wangaratta.
The central Victorian farmer was a regular client at Quarterway and stepped up again to take a bull home across the Bass Strait.

2024 AUTUMN BULL SALE
Quarterway Angus bulls delivered again at the stud’s annual sale at Lyndurst, Scottsdale, Tasmania, on Friday.
Stud co-principal Trevor Hall said he was “happy” with the sale’s result despite what he described as a “tough market”.
The stud sold 48 of the 55 bulls it offered to a high of $19,000 and an average of $8680.

2023 SPRING BULL SALE
Stud’s spring sale ties top price twice, with bulls staying in Tasmania.
Quarterway Angus are keeping optimistic after a “tougher” sale, but strong return support means bulls will travel broadly across the state.
The sale had 34 of 55 lots sold to $11,000 twice, with an average price of $7000, and three lots sold after the sale.

REPEAT volume buyers underpinned a near total clearance at Quarterway Angus, Lyndurst, Scottsdale, Tasmania.
Stud co-principal Trevor Hall said commercial producers on Flinders and King Islands were among the main buyers, but the sale-topper went across Bass Strait to Victorian producer Lake Goldsmith Pastoral, Lake Goldsmith.

Repeat buyers who were looking for quality Angus bulls were spoiled for choice during Tasmanian stud Quarterway Angus’ on-property spring bull sale on Thursday.
A Tasmanian buyer and cattle producer from Flinders Island shared the top-priced honours after two bulls were knocked down for $15,000, respectively.
The stud offered 46 two-year-old bulls to average $9837, and nine yearling bulls which averaged $9750.

2022 AUTUMN BULL SALE
*59 of 61 bulls sold to $14,000, av $8862.
QUARTERWAY Angus’ annual autumn bull sale at Scottsdale, Tas, peaked at $14,000 to set a new record average of $8862 for the 59 bulls sold, as clients chased high-performing genetics.
The $14,000 lead sire was not achieved until Lot 42, Quarter-Way Russell R228, and was the sole purchase by LD and NA Lette, Scottsdale.
The 19-month-old bull was praised as a strong, meaty son of NWPM42 Wattletop Moonshine M42 – a super sire the stud owns in partnership with Banquet Angus, Mortlake.
